LyonStJoseph.jpgDomaine Saint Joseph is surrounded by greenery and  tranquility and offers a nice view of the foothills of the Massif Central.

It is a former residence for seminary students that came here to study philosophy.

More information on the history of the Domaine can be found here.

Travel

 Lyon benefits from

  • an international airport (Lyon Saint Exupéry) with direct flights to e.g. Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Nice, Vienna, London, Milan, Venice
  • a major railway station (Lyon Part-Dieu) with direct TGV connections to e.g. Brussels and Paris (center and CDG airport)

A tramway connects the airport to the railway station of Lyon Part-Dieu in 30 minutes. From the railway station, the Domaine Lyon Saint Joseph can be reached by public transportation.

From the railway station Lyon Part-Dieu, a metro journey via lines B and D will bring you to metro station Bellecour where the bus to the hotel can be taken (metro map). This bus is the bus C20 (or C20E) with destination Francheville Taffignon/Fort du Bruissin. It can be taken at the bus stop Bellecour Le Viste which can be found in front of the Crédit Mutuel branch (15 Place Bellecour, Lyon). The time schedule of this bus can be downloaded here. There is basically a bus at x:00 and at x:30 from Bellecour Le Viste on Sundays.

The bus stop at which you have to get off is "La Plaine". At this bus stop, you have to go towards the little square with different shops (situated on rue du Commandant Charcot) and to take the street ''Chemin des Fonts" (there is an hairdresser at the corner), walk for about 100 meters and then turn right into Allée Jean-Paul II (there is a road sign for Domaine Lyon St Joseph). A map of the location is available here.
